Rev. Julie Kline, Rev. Matt Weiler

Matthew 25:31-40

Third Sunday of Lent –

I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothes to wear. I was sick and you took care of me. I was in prison and you visited me.’ … ‘I assure you that when you have done it for one of the least of these siblings of mine, you have done it for me.’”

When we welcome the stranger and care for those in need, we are welcoming and caring for Christ himself. And this is the church God desires for us to be. But that kind of radical welcome asks something significant of us. It requires us to repent of those things that stand in our way. Today we ask the question, “With what are we possessed that prevents us from the movement of the Spirit in this church in our work to transform the world”

Join us this third Sunday in Lent where we dream of a church. Our choir will sing us in and First Beats will share their gifts as well.
