Sunday Morning Class: Grace and Gratitude

This fall’s Stewardship campaign focuses on grace and gratitude and is based on John 1:16. This new class series is designed to look more closely at the role grace and gratitude play in the life of a Christian. Carol Hodges will lead the class, but there will be several other presenters including Jennifer Clark, Michel Pierce, John Boley and Jan Schoenherr. Each week, we will hear the hymn Amazing Grace sung by various individuals and groups. The class will be offered in person in the Parlor and also online on Zoom.

Led by Carol Hodges, this week’s session will begin with a recording of country artist Josh Turner singing Amazing Grace. We will discuss the life story of John Newton, the writer of the song’s lyrics, as well as look at how the various images in the hymn relate to the concept of grace.
