The Compassion of God: Poor in Spirit and Meek

For second Sunday worship, we will begin a new six week series in the Beatitudes from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount. The Beatitudes are remembered as among Jesus’ most essential teachings and for this series we have divided these blessings into three parts: The Compassion of God, the Goodness of God, the Justice of God. This Sunday we’ll consider the compassion of God in the 1st and 3rd Beatitudes – “Blessed are the poor in Spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven” and “Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth…” We will also participate in the Baptism of two adults, Cooper Betke and Christine VanOstran.
