The Kingdom of Heaven is like a free store where all are welcome, all the treasures are free, and abundance is experienced.
The Gospel writer Matthew tells us that Jesus teaches that the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, like yeast, like treasure hidden, like a pearl, like a net full of fish, and treasure new and old. The realm of God is valuable, it is ordinary and spectacular at the same time. They are stories about seeking, finding, paying attention, and honoring God’s presence. As we worship this Sunday, let us accept Jesus’ invitation to bring forth the kingdom. Please join us for our last hymn sing of July after worship in the sanctuary. Step out and grab a cup of coffee if you’d like and then we will gather around the piano.
Join us in person or online at 10 am this Sunday.
