First Stitchers

Do you enjoy sewing, knitting, or simply creating something cozy with your hands? The First Stitchers would love to have you join their cheerful crew. This warm‑hearted group crafts hand‑sewn, knitted, and fleece blankets, pillows, pillowcases, mini‑quilts, hats, mittens, and dishcloths—little bundles of comfort shared with local ministries including the YWCA, Spring Valley Elementary School, the Costa Rica Children’s Home, the midwife program in Sudan, and our local Binkie Patrol.

The group gathers most Thursday mornings at the church, stitching away while enjoying good company and good conversation. Most materials are donated, though cash contributions toward pillows and other supplies are always appreciated—there’s a big need for these handmade gifts of care.
