Pentecost: When the Spirit Moves

Pentecost has arrived. It is the fiftieth day or the seventh Sunday from Easter Sunday. As modern Christians we observe Pentecost as a holiday, not to celebrate a wheat harvest, but to remember when the Holy Spirit invaded the church as the story is told in the second chapter of Acts. The Spirit is alive and moves among us as it did in the early church. We are a church that can proclaim resurrection hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. As the spirit is poured out, the body of Christ moves and shifts and brings an amazing beauty to the world around us. Pentecost is an invitation to take flight and soar on the winds of hope and promise, through the Spirit of Christ we can bring together a broken world. As we worship, let us connect with others who seek to fly into a kin-dom way of living.
