An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until July 20, 2022
Each Wednesday from 6:30-8pm, beginning June 29 and continuing until July 20, we will gather in the sanctuary and listen to three people speak. Over the course of four weeks, we will have listened to twelve individuals tell their story of identity and faith. The people telling their stories have attended a class where they learned to build narrative around their experiences. As the audience, we will listen for moments of relationship, power, transformation, conflict, joy, love, God, community and intersection.
The goal of The Narrative is to bring us closer as a congregation, deepening how we know each other through God and through the experiences that have shaped us. This is a follow up to the Big Deal Weekend and our Friday night storytelling. When we listen intentionally to people’s stories, we practice antibias, antiracist values in truly hearing one another. We hope you will join us in learning and growing with each other in this sacred space of witness. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mandakini Brophy at mbrophy@umc-kzo.org.
