“For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him, God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things…”
Colossians 1: 19a
What does it mean to speak of the Christ who reigns or Christ the king? The Gospels will undoubtedly tell us that Jesus redefined what it meant to be king, this is his purpose in coming. The one who reigns in our lives was treated as a common criminal by an oppressive government and was executed publicly, intended to humiliate and destroy. Yet, Christ reigns. With power, he is our king that is on the ground with us. He is the reconciler that shows us the power of joy and the way out of darkness. This is the one whom we gather to worship and more importantly, follow. The one who reigns in our hearts, our lives and is our ground of being. Come, let us worship with joy!
