A Love That Makes Us Whole: A Sense of Place

This Sunday we delve into the powerful story of the Road to Emmaus, found in Luke 24:13-36. We’ll gather to reflect on the scripture where Jesus reveals himself to two of his followers, offering hope, healing, and a sense of belonging.
In this passage, the disciples Cleopas and an unnamed companion, experience a profound transformation as they journey from Jerusalem to Emmaus. Engaged in conversation with the risen Christ, they begin to understand the meaning behind the recent events in Jerusalem. Their hearts burn within them as Jesus opens the scriptures, and they finally recognize him in the breaking of the bread. Through this transformative encounter, we learn that Christ’s love accompanies us in our personal journeys, providing guidance, reassurance, and a sense of belonging even during times of doubt and despair.
